This 1957 blouse pattern is a classic look. It’s easy to sew up and has 4 different sleeve options. I made View B with below the elbow sleeves. I used a fun cotton print and didn’t make any changes to the original pattern. That means that I applied the front interfacing to the body of the top rather than to the facing. That’s the way it was done before the advent of fusibles. I’m not sure I like it and opted to update the pattern instructions to apply the interfacing to the facings instead.

The blouse uses French seam which is a nice touch. If I make another version (I have some fabric for the long sleeve version), I will probably self-line the yoke for a cleaner inside look. It’s also fun how the collar is cut as part of the front piece. There’s a dart at the neckline to form the collar.

I had just enough of some great vintage rhinestone buttons and think they finish the top off nicely. This is an easy blouse to wear. It works just as well with jeans as with a cute pencil skirt so I wear it often.
