Using Pomegranate Seeds Fabric

I really like all of my pomegranate fabrics. When designing the fabrics, I also found a number of pomegranate embroidery designs - I was really into pomegranates! I decided to make a jean jacket and line it with my "Pomegranate Seeds" fabric. I had the fabric printed on Kona cotton for this project. I used Style Arc Stacie Jean Jacket pattern with a white denim for the jacket body and lined it with my "Pomegranate Seeds" fabric. I used red top-stitching thread.

I embroidered the collar, the inside of the yoke and the inside of the cuffs so that you would see the embroidery when they cuffs were turned up. I used red metal snaps to close the jacket. This was a case where the lining fabric actually inspired the finished garment. I wanted to showcase the fabric and found a pattern that worked well with it.

I often wear the jacket. It is an interesting take on a classic jean jacket what works well with many casual looks.
